Made in Australia – With An Old World Touch – For Canadians

The 2004 Gigi McLaren Vale Reserve Shiraz is the best vintage we have produced to date. Focusing our winemaking on only our finest McLaren Vale reserve shiraz grapes from 45 year vines, the wine was aged for 24 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by 16 months in the bottle. The result is a classic full-bodied shiraz that offers a truly sumptuous bouquet, balanced with the complexity of rich fruit ripeness, and combined with long favourful finishes. The 2004 growing year could not have been any better, with good spring rains followed by a gradual rise in temperatures throughout the summer without any exceedingly hot days, and ending with perfectly dry weather a month before harvest. We believe that the 2004 vintage will rival the great 1998 year!

A boutique-style approach using old world methods permits Gigi to produce their wines with special attention and care. The 2004 Gigi McLaren Vale Reserve Shiraz will reward the patience of proper cellaring, but also will satisfy those with a desire to savour a very enjoyable wine now.

"My passion for winemaking came from my Italian grandfather, Luigi 'Gigi' Zorzit. His perfectionist attention to detail and quality inspired me to carry on his old country style of making 'vino puro'. Our wines honour his memory." – Gigi International Wines Inc. Founder, John Bringas
